WARNING: HEARSAY

I was in the caf this afternoon, chatting with Ria, Sev and TJ... TJ told us a good anecdote.

Prof: So Ms. ____, what do you say so that you can finally get locked up in
that prison called marriage?
GIrl: Uhmm sir... I'm pregnant?

Panalo.

Legal Forms and its other forms

We were tasked to write a Complaint, an Answer, a Pre-trial brief, a Motion and a Petition for Quo Warranto. So, here are the interesting conversations that we got from the experience.

On Complaint:
Prof: So, if this is the first pleading... an initiatory pleading. Bakit
may Branch number at Civil case no. na kayo agad ?
Euns: [to Ces] Ayos, kasi nakapagdesisyon na tayo e no. Parang, Hmm... ano
kaya magiging number ng case ko... what's my favorite number?

On Motion

Eunice: Hmm, so motion? [starts to sing] "Motion, that's taking me
oooover.... caught up in sorrow, lost in your souuuul."
Ana: Hay naku. O kaya, pwedeng ma-late?
Eunice: Tama, kasi pano kung SLOW MOTION diba? [does the whole slooow
running act]
Ana: Un tipong, where is Ms. Diaz? Tapos sasabihin, sir.. parating na po.
Parating na po talaga...
EUnice: at tatanungin why is she not here yet at ang sagot, kasi sir un
ipa-pass po nya SLOOOW MOTION.
ANa: Tama, nasa elevator pa ako nun.
EUnice: O kaya, pwedeng magsayaw ka na lang sa harapan ni SIr.
ANa: Ha?
Eunice: Kasi nga diba, Universal MOTION dancers un ipa-pass mo?
Ana: Wala na.
EUnice: [once you pop you can't stop] O kaya, pwede rin na umiyak ka at
magalit or matuwa... Tapos ipapaliwanag mo na ang intindi mo, ipapakita mo ang
iyong eMOTION.

On the Pre-trial Brief:
Prof: So Mr Batan... [TJ was supposed to recite on his pre-trial
brief] Did you bring your brief with you? That would've been weird if i
asked a girl no?
Euns: [to Ces] si Ethel po. [inside joke]

Prof: Can you go on pre-trial without your BRIEF? I mean, can you settle
without your brief?
Euns: [to self] That would've been fun. All these parties with their
counsels... without briefs.

I Never Learn

[right after i bumped into my long-time crush in Gram's]

Euns: Sya un MBA guy na crush ko. Un kasama sa 18 roses ko na nakita ko ulit after so many years. Ka-YFC ko before.. [blahblahblahblah i like him... blahblah... he's hot... blahblah]
Ces: Euniiiice!

[it turned out, my MBA guy decided to walk towards wherever we were going and was about two steps behind me. So there.]

In Detail

The love train is pulling into the station today, and it's stopping right in front of you! You are going to get a big dose of affection, which you should return. Keep in mind that love comes in many forms, and this surge of positive emotion could come from a family member, friend, or even a particularly grateful coworker! There is no hidden agenda to this warmth, it is meant only to communicate the value you bring to someone else's life. Give this same message to someone you love today.

Miss. Adventure

I had yet another solo sorta adventure today. It started out with a vague plan to go shopping for clothes that I could hopefully wear to Galera [if things fall into their proper places] this weekend. After a few hours of shorts-hunting, shades-digging and well, window shopping [due to financial constraint] I deicded to do what I do best, hangout alone in Starbucks and read the book that I conveniently packed inside my bag. The decision that I had to make was whether to go to Starbucks inside Market! Market!, Starbucks Bonifacio Highstreet or Starbucks Fully Booked [also in BOni High Street]. In the end, my being starved for MORE BOOKS made me decide to go to the heaven that is Starbucks Fully Booked.

A few minutes of briskwalking after, I was in Fully Booked with the dilemma of not finding a vacant table outside [the smoking area]. That's when I spotted a barista who was smoking with a vacant chair beside her. Because I badly needed to smoke and because I was left with no other choice, I ended up asking if I can share the view ,err, if i can seat beside her while I wait for a vacant table. She said yes.

It was the start of our getting to know you process. Her name's MJ and she is quite an exquisite new character in the comedy that is my life because of her uhmm, credentials. She is at present a barista in Starbucks but the juicy part is... she used to be one of the ASF Dancers in Wowowee [aka WOwowee dancers, MTB Dancers etc]. How appropriate diba? Give it to me to meet interesting people.

We ended up chatting for at least 2 hours. It was an entertaining, interesting and well, funny exchange of kwentos and misadventures about my life and [mostly] her life. Whoever said "Don't talk to strangers." is a good rule ought to talk to me for enlightenment. I got a lot of juicy gossips [which I promised not to tell other people] and suprising anecdotes from MJ. When she finally had to leave, [she was just waiting for the rush hour to pass] we did what was inevitable... exchange full names so we can search for each other in Friendster.

Alas, I wasl eft alone with only my book as my companion. I stayed for about 2 hours more to finish TRIAL BY JURY by Graham Burnett while I smoke my way to nausea. .Then I toured Fully Booked, browsing through the gold mine that is their store.

It was a great adventure for the Miss. Adventure that I am.

Almost Forgot to Post This

This was how Japhet convinced me to go to our Tomas Morato gimmick last Saturday. Note the subtlety and sensitivity of the message. [haha!]

"Please lang ha, wag umarte. Malay mo nasa Morato ang ang kapalaran mo... Crunch time na, bawal pa-girl at choosy. =)"
Panalo diba?

It’s that Time of the Year AGAIN

We shall wait in agony as we watch our future unfold in front of us. Let’s all have faith and keep our fingers crossed. We may cry or laugh or become suicidal after but I say…

Grades… BRING IT ON!

Another Perksquad Escapade

“Nagpagupit ka? Bakit? Gusto mo naman yan haircut mo? Di naman yan tulad ng ibang girls na nagpapagupit sa moment of weakness nila at nagsisisi after? Bagay naman sa’yo, nagmukha kang woman with perspective.”

-Paul

Last Saturday was the first time in ages that I met up with my bestest of friends [Japh, AM, Sam, Bon and Paul … Nate and Abby in spirit] outside of Rockwell [that’s because when school starts, the only time where we can meet up is when they decide to visit me in Rockwell, specifically in Starbucks]. It was all Japhet’s idea, he called and informed [yes, he wasn’t asking if I could come, saying NO was not an option] me that we shall meet up that night. I said NO, he asked why and I said MONEY, his exact words were, “Kailan naman naging problema yan? Magkita tayo sa Shangri-La at ako na bahala sayo.” So, I asked my parents if I could come and they said no, I should stay home. It was time for the,”I don’t get to go out without studying! This is the first time in ages that I’m really going out to have fun… I haven’t seen my friends in a while!” tantrum. They heeded.

Euns: Let’s meet up at Starbucks upstairs, smoking area.
Japhet: Dun na lang sa Starbucks sa baba!
Euns: Di pwede, mas ok sa taas. Di halata na I didn’t order anything.
[Summary of my ka-PURESAHAN!]

With an amount of money not far from poverty, I commuted my way to Shangri-La. Sabi ko nga, “Jeep kung jeep ang lola mo!” It turned out that our gimmick was gonna be in Tomas Morato. The plan was to have dinner at Reyes Barbeque, conduct a videoke night in Starway [it was everyone’s first time, AM suggested the place.. it turned out, she just looked for a Videoke place in Click The City] and cap the night off in Starbucks. Well, almost. We didn’t have dinner at Reyes Barbeque because Japhet and I were so lazy to walk from Starbucks, so we had dinner at Starbucks. When Bon, Paul and Amitz arrived, we felt the urge to buy REAL FOOD and went to my hottest resto find at present, GRILLED TOMATO. People who are in Tomas Morato should definitely try the place… It’s cozy, the food’s great and well, it’s very conducive to great conversations… did I say that the food is GREAT? El delicioso, I’ll post the menu one of these days. GRILLED TOMATO is near Starbucks. Walk through the side street from the corner of Aruba and on look for it on your right side, you won’t miss it.

We spent about three hours in Starway KTV [somewhere in the creekside] and belted our hearts out while satisfying our alcoholic urges. The room was big, more than enough to accommodate our song and dance numbers. We really shook our bonbons, brought IT and told ‘em what we want what we really really want. It was worth the 350 per hour that we paid… It was one helluva private show!

At the end of our “concert”, we headed to Starbucks to talk. Our favorite thing in the whole wide world is CONVERSATION. From the usual how are you’s and dustahan moments to our political, entrepreneurial and spiritual views. I was reminded why they are my bestest of friends. A few hours after, we decided to end our fruitful night and vowed to do it again. Hopefully, earlier than next year. [winks at AM]

As for the freeloader me, I went home more thankful than ever for God’s gifts that are my friends.

It’s Complicated.

Whether we admit it or not, we click on It’s Complicated as our status in Friendster to create an illusion that we are extremely close to being In a Relationship. For me, adding the status It’s Complicated is Friendster’s most brilliant idea, it’s a mask or a profile accessory that Single persons can turn to if they need to once in a while make heads turn or more correctly, make people pay attention [even for a few secs] to their profile. It can mean anything from the most honest, “I am dating someone, it’s just that he /she still hasn’t asked me to go into a serious relationship yet.” to the pretentious, “I know this guy/girl likes me, he/she just hasn’t gathered the courage to ask me out... and to even smile at me.” or to the dramatic, “What do we mean to each other? Are we friends or lovers?”

It’s Complicated represents the hopefuls, the drama queen, the confused, the abandoned, the in denial and everything that this Complicated World has to offer. The thing is, It’s Complicated is a catch-all status. Being “in a relationship” can be complicated, being “single” is definitely complicated, and well, I cannot imagine how complicated Marriage or Domestic Partnership could be.

What’s the point? Oh well, it’s complicated.

Cine Europa Day 3: FC VENUS and Girl Power

I went to Ateneo to pass my International Economic Law and Labor Law Paper Requirements and met up with Haze to watch a Cine Europa film for the last time. While waiting for our film, Haze and I decided to hangout at the Starbucks Shangri-la smoking area. Luckily, we bumped into Haze’s college friends whom she hasn’t seen in a while. They chatted a few minutes before we decided to buy our Dimsum n’ Dumpling soup dinner. Then we returned to what has become our temporary home in Starbucks Shangri-La.

We were planning to watch at least two films but were only able to watch one, FC Venus. It’s about the usual misunderstanding between men and women and how it’s constantly resolved by love and everything that really matters. Nothing new about the plot except for football and how it has become the central theme for the film. It was good enough to entertain Haze and I and to make us laugh… After the film, we one again bumped into Jan [the high schoolmate] whom we bumped into on our second Cine Europa day. I asked for her number so we can keep in touch and vowed to meet up again a year after for another Cine Europa getaway.

It was a great end to our Cine Europa trilogy. After our “Sinigang and Adobo” conversations [inside joke] and a lot of kadramahan after, I can say that we started our semestral break right.

Cine Europa Day 2: A Sort of Reunion

My second Cine Europa day for this year was planned a week before it happened. My long lost cousin, Jeff and I got in touch after what seemed like ages and decided to meet up for a sort of reunion / bonding / catching up. The plan was to watch from 12nn until 12 mn, but it didn’t push through because first, I wasn’t able to wake up in time to catch the 12nn flick and well, Jeff got “caught in traffic”, which I think is a sort of lame excuse. [Kidding!] When we finally got to meet, it was too late to catch even the 2pm film so we had to wait for Facing Windows whose screening is at 6pm and fall in line at around 4pm for the tickets. You will not believe how easily the tickets can run out. It’s a competitive sport, haha. My cousin and I had to get four tickets [for Haze and Rach] so after falling in line for our tickets; we separated and fell in line again to get another set. Pa-spy pa ang drama, nagkita pa sa hagdan after ng krimen. Apir cousin!

It was around this time that I texted Rach and Haze to join me and my cousin. Rachelle said yes and emphasized the importance of us watching that 9pm film, Just Sex and Nothing Else. The title easily enticed my cousin; the only word he could remember was Sex. We decided to enter the cinema late so we can fall in line first at around a few minutes after 6 for the Just Sex and Nothing Else tickets. When Rach arrived, I got to introduce her to Jeff whom she thinks looks cute because he looked like a big17 year old playing with his PSP. Our only dilemma was that the “brilliant Hazel” didn’t make it to fall in line for the 9pm film at six. So, the Cine Europa whores that we are tried to find a way to get Haze’s ticket. Alas, I saw my friend / high schoolmate Jan who was luckily alone. I asked her if I could fall in line [again] with her so I can get another ticket for my brilliant friend. She said yes and so we got to reconnect. I found out that she currently works or Gabriela as a writer. I knew she’d be someone someday, I’m glad she found her purpose. Now, with four tickets for Facing Windows and five tickets for Just Sex and Nothing Else, we asked Jan to just watch Facing Windows with us because it was apparent that Haze will not make it on time anyway.

Facing Windows was very interesting. It was about an old man with a mental problem who turned out to be a pastry expert who was looking for Simone. The twist was that Simone turned out to be a guy [the old man’s gay] and that they had a secret place where they would exchange love letters. When the Nazis came, the old man saved the very same people who judged him and Simone for being homosexuals. Ohh, but the real protagonist was this woman accountant who had a family and an absolutely hot husband who doesn’t take care of her. She met this absolutely way hotter guy who lives just across her apartment, thus the title Facing Windows. The cinematography was good; the little details were little puzzles that completed quite an exquisite picture. The lines fit the mood of the film. In other words, ahlaveeet.

Just Sex and Nothing Else probably is my most favorite of all the films in my three-day Cine Europa escapade. No, it’s not because there’s sex in it, in fact, it was surprisingly wholesome. What made it extraordinary are its wit and its ability to transform the usual plot [boy meets girl, they hate each other initially but the phrase, “The more you hate the more you love.” comes into place.” The woman is made cynical by her unfortunate relationship experiences thus hiding her being a romantic who wants to have kids and the guy reputed as playboy but in reality is a very loyal knight in shining armor.]

After our Cine Europa day, Haze, Rach, Jeff and I decided to have dinner at Hula! Hula! I’m so glad that Rach and Haze liked Jeff and Jeff, the usual “people-person” that he is, was able to jive with my friends. The night ended with us being won over to his side after a day of me teasing him about being a chauvinist [hehe]. It was a great second Cine Europa day.

CHOKOLEYT

I was watching Sharon a while ago and I couldn’t help but quote Chokoleyt for making me laughed the hardest.

[On seeing Rosita and her French boyfriend kissing]
“Ang swerte mo naman Rosita, ikaw talaga ang napili sa lahat ng mga camel dun.”

Amazing Race: Thesis Edition

Got my official Thesis topic for the second part of my "Substantial Compliance" series in the evening of October 31. [Thanks Ana D.]

I started typing my first word for the thesis requirement at around 9pm last night [November 1], went to bed at around five in the morning after finishing my all new thesis statement, outline, and abstract.

I woke up at 9am to begin the grueling three thousand word Chapter One. I finished my Chapter One at 4:45 pm. Got to fix the bibiliography at 5:10pm and finished printing everything at 5:30 pm.

Left my house at 5:35 and specifically instructed the cab driver to "Step on the gas." because I need to be in Rockwell at 6. The cab driver happily obliged and a few near-coliision moments after, I was brisk-walking my way up the stairs to the Guard. After borrowing Lea's puncher and successfully fastening everything... she informed us that the papers are to be picked up at 8pm pa. Great.

And now, I'm OFFICIALLY ON A SEM BREAK!!!! Woohoo. Bring it on calories!

CINE EUROPA Day no.1: Eunice's Retreat / Cinema Getaway

I had my very own retreat. It's not your conventional silent retreat, heck it wasn't even spiritual, it was a CINE EUROPA retreat. If you know me, you prolly would just give me that knowing look because you're resigned to the idea that I have my weird ways. I watched The Taming of the Shrew [yeah, that Shakespearian play], Carol's Journey and Jalla! Jalla!. This is my own way of detoxifying and reflecting. I haven't watched a flick alone in years, I have almost forgotten how liberating it is. Not having to think of how to establish a conversation, not having to share your popcorn with anyone and being able to give my full attention to the film if I want to or let my mind wander a bit. It was a perfect ritual. Inside the cinema, I only have myself in mind.

It wasn't planned, it was more like a blessing in disguise when my friends Angel and Jason backed out on me. [Hmmph!] I tried to invite my other friends but everyone's busy with their own work, deadlines and everything that this cruel life has to offer.

My first film for this year's Cine Europa was The Taming of the Shrew. I was able to identify with Kate, not because I'm an outright shrew nor am I a bratinella [not close] but because of her being a surface toughie. The second film was too serious for me. Carol's Journey is set during the war. I know it could've been better appreciated by me if I didn't feel drained after The Taming of the Shrew. Carol's Journey, unfortunately, became my "break" in my movie marathon. The last film for the day was Jalla! Jalla!, and what can I say but J'adore! It was pretty refreshing, the plot's not new, it's about Mans, a guy who's having and erectile dysfunction and his friend, Roro who's being forced by his parents to marry a girl whom he doesn't love. I loved the humor and the fact that the guy playing Mans was effin' HOT. Woohoo!

At the end of the day, I tried to cap everything off by smoking at Shangri-La’s Smoking Area near Starbucks. A guy, who freaking looks like Jesus, asked if I can give him a cig stick. I said yes because I am reminded that Jesus is in everyone around us and how we treat them mirrors how we treat God. Yeah, yeah... It was more like, "Spreading the Lung Cancer," but I had good intentions. Then he sat in front of me, right at my table! I didn't mind him because I was actually making pa-cute to that other guy who borrowed my lighter a few minutes before "Jesus" came along.

It was a great day. I needed that.

BEST "AFTER FINALS PARTY" MOMENTS

Euns: Oh no, i forgot to pass my Legal Accounting quiz.
Patty: Kamusta ka naman?
Ces: Kamusta ka?!
Haze: Seryoso?
Rach: [the talking MAKOPA] HOW ARE YOU?
Everyone: [puzzled silence]
Patty: Ah, english ng KAMUSTA KA NAMAN?!
Everyone: [walang hanggang pagtawa]

Sev: Hey Rach.. Are you drunk?
Rach: Uhmm, I don't think so... but I think so..

Shem: [tradisyon na'to] He looked sooooo dugyot.
Mel and Euns: "He looked sooo dugyot....."

[Pasok sila Anton na may dalang cake at nakasinding candle]
Everyone: [sings happy birthday with questioning looks]
Natapos ang pagkanta na walang nakakaalam kung sino ang may birthday... si KC pala. Ang catch, sa Friday pa.

CINE EUROPA na! [A SHOUTOUT]

RACHELLE!!!!! This is the moment we've been waiting for. CINE EUROPA NA, kahapon pa!

Special thanks to Meg for posting the schedule...

Spontaneity Attack

After our Torts exam, everyone felt quite damaged and as much as we want to claim moral damages for the Mental Anguish, Physical Suffering, Serious Anxiety, Fright and Wounded Feelings that we suffered, we realized that there was an ASSUMPTION OF RISK on our part when we decided to go to law school.

There was nothing left for us to do but to have dinner at Grams and do what we do best… DRINK and BE MERRY. It was a successful one round, only because Krizna, Dema and Sev were gonna watch StarDust and Haze felt the urge to go home. So, Ces and I went to Starbucks for divine intervention. We didn’t get Divine Intervention, technically…. but we sort of got it when B.“Dy” Samantha texted Ces to tell her that they’re at Binalot with B.Ilards and Gerona, drinking. Ces went to the washroom and I got ready to leave. Quanny saw me packing my stuff so he innocently asked, “Are you leaving?” and I answered, being the drama queen that I am, “I don’t know… I don’t know what to do with my life!” [with facial expression and proper intonation] We were a table apart and the table between us was occupied by two women we don’t know. These two strangers looked at me with worry in their eyes and a subsequent funny look only to find out that I was just kidding. One of the strangers while sort of laughing said,.”I’m sorry… I can’t help but overhear.” Great, give it to me to find unique ways to humiliate myself.

Then Ces and I went straight to Binalot to drink and sort of freeload [at least on my part]. It started pretty innocent, we talked about the usual stuff including the alleged plan to go to Galera. A duo was performing and like any other day, Gerona and I were daring each other to sing. I told him, “If you sing, I’ll sing…” AND HE DID. So I DID TOO. Argh. The worse part? I actually sang three songs. Two in a row and another one a few minutes later. It was like I did half of the duo’s set. Haha, dyahe. Pero it was a liberating experience. So I owe Gerona a “thank you” wave for his undying support and encouragement. Woohoo! We also got to meet pala two of Sam’s friends. I think they actually told us their names but uhmm… I forget. Totally normal for a drunkard who just sat there and let the night take its course... kumbaga NORMAL and PROBABLE consequence, forseeable man o hindi.

So as a summary… I got drunk and sang. I thank you.

Aral na ulit!

Author's Note:
the video of my "first song", a rendition of Tattoed on My Mind, in Binalot is in Ces' Multiply site.

Richard Fish:
"Let me tell you something. I didn't become a lawyer because I like the law; the law sucks. It's boring, but it can also be used as a weapon. You want to bankrupt somebody? Cost him everything he's worked for? Make his wife leave him, even make his kids cry? Yeah, we can do that."

Friendster Horoscope for October 17, 2007

Taurus (Apr 20 - May 20)

The Bottom Line
You can kiss goodbye to the deep issues of life today. It's time for some fun.

In Detail
Relationships are fluid -- people are moving in and out of the center of your life all the time, whether you realize it or not. This drifting phenomena is continuing with a troubled friend, who seems farther away than ever. Let them continue on their own path and value what they gave you. Ultimately, you are all individuals who need to take their own journey. Is there someone you've lost touch with who you miss? Get in touch with them today -- even if it's just to say a final goodbye.

-----------
Yebaah, luma-last goodbye talaga e no. haha.

... I took pictures of silly things.

I Don't Remember You Anymore

I can't remember you anymore,
I'm not left with your memories,
of your smile, of your laugh
nor of the way you walk when
you're walking with me. I don't
even know if you were with me. We
were never together. I go to seek
for our place but there was none. I look
at your gifts yet there was nothing. I have
pictures in pixels but somehow the folders
are all empty, or they seem to be empty.

I don't remember you anymore,
the absence of these tangibles don't
speak of ease, nor of simple non-
existence. It never is easier, an affirmation
of what used to be there. Slowly found its way
to melt into nothingness. But you're not nothing.
At some point you were everything and then you
were something. I see colors, i hear songs then I feel
you. I must be numb or dumb. But I know
and I feel and it was real.

I won't remember you anymore.
Did you smile? Did you laugh?
Was that "our" walk?
Where did "we" go?
Were "we" in the picture?
Do you remember?
Was there nothing to remember?
Was there something?
Do you find pleasure
from knowing...

I should not remember you anymore?
I used to, then I had to forget, or pretend
to forget. I did. Forget? No.
Remember? Maybe. What was left to remember
were the questions left unanswered, the emotions
left hanging from the window of uncertainties.

Still, I remember.
I choose not to.
I vow not to.

Learn From My Mistakes

It's been months but it still remians as one of the hottest topics that my friends bring up when we are given with the gift of time to reminisce. I must admit, it was and still is a good story. My friends almost always end up smiling and hopeful after the story is retold. It;s amazing gow it has affected a lot of people, now it has become a sort of standard on how to / not to act in similiar situations. My advice is simple, "Learn from my mistakes." Pain comes from unreserved optimism, it comes from blinded faith, it stems from going all out. Somehow, it reminds one to stop and be aware of the most important condieration, ONE'S Self. Pain becomes one's protection, after all, when you've been subjected to pain, nothing remains to be feared. More pain? You felt it, embraced and survived it... it could not stop you anymore. Every second is an opportunity to begin again, to write a different story or to rewrite what has already been written not to specificially change the ending but to start a whole new journey that hopefully will not end. One may choose to journey with the same characters or to find new protagonists and antagonists.

As for me, I choose to just live and ignore the irregularity of the circumstances. I must.

Asymptotic Relationships

This is all Chubs' fault, he just had to send that geeky math quote about how Math tells three of the saddest love stories, the tangent lines [who met once and never saw each other again], parallel lines [whose lives are the same but will never meet] and the asymptotes [who get closer and closer but will never EVER meet].

It's depressing, especially since I've had my share of asymptotic love stories. It makes me think why asymptotes can never meet, I mean, if they get closer and closer, it's but logical for them to meet right?

I guess it's one of life's mysteries, how two persons can be almost there and yet never really get there. Looking back and thinking of how I could've altered the whole thing makes me wish that I made the right decisions. I could've and would've wanted more. I don't know if my other asymptote did, but I could've and would've given more.

Everybody tells me that I shouldn't let these past asymptotes define me. But somehow they did, he did. That makes it a little more depressing and burdernsome.

Sana may chocolate ka kagabi Ona, nadepress nga ako. =P

Kinilig Ng Konti

Bago pa ako maunahan ni Haze magkwento, sa tingin ko may cute na MBA na actionable document.

Kasalanan nya, umupo sya sa harapan ko at tumanga sa Starbucks. As in "face to face nakakadistract position". At di pa natapos dun, habang nagkkwentuhan kami ni Haze para lang maitago ang pagtawa namin sa ka-weirdohan nya, nakatingin lang sya at nakangiti.

In fairness, cute.

Sana nasa Starbucks sya today.

The SALUBONG That Was: Raves of a SALUBONG Virgin

Things always fall into their proper places.

The beer did fall and boy it was one helluva party!!!

It rained beer and it sure fell on us, on the floor, the bumping and grinding bodies of all the Ateneans who were eagerly anticipating the arrival of the "more than harassed but so damn excited and more than happy to end the misery" barristers after their last exam. Nasagutan na nila ang mga ETHICS nila. We wanted to calmly wait, we wanted to let the excitement build up until that first barrister comes out but we couldn't. The party started and it didn't stop until every tiny drop of that 5o thousand peso-supply of San Miguel beer drowned us. We didn't forget that it wasn't about us, it was about the BARRISTERS, it was about how we can make them feel how proud we are of them. Never mind that we were on the ground, never mind that the other schools were "literally" looking down at us, it wasn't the original plan but we cheered and yelled and poured beer like we were up there, heaven that is.

Things always fall into their proper places.

The Ateneo Law Students acted as ONE, forming a circle, a circle that was intended as a human barricade to stop the "other schools" from Usurping err, encroaching OUR SPOT. We may be on our feet that afternoon but we weren't feeling LOW, not close, not even a bit. Everyone was on a high. The Law School "Babble" was there, we had the sound system running, eternally playing OUR CHEER. The Ateneo Cheer which I am not really that familiar with, but I tried and I cheered anyway because nothing can be more inspiring than seeing your Law School Friends getting wet and wild together, waiting for the same people that you are waiting for. We were there not because of ourselves alone but mainly because THE BARRISTERS deserve an all-fun, no-fuss and no-drama SALUBONG. The Ateneo delivered.

Divine Intervention always comes when you need it the most. I still think that everything was a blessing in disguise. It was a time for us to realize that we have to be level-headed, mature and open to the possibility of plans getting screwed up.

Life is a play, if nothing bad or at least close to it happens, it's not a good play. Something very complicated and beautiful has to have drama in it. It takes class to rise up to the occasion and still continue to be happy despite the bad actors and actresses that we have to work with or in life's case, live with. Bad actors and actresses are a staple. "Nothing's perfect" and it's their job to make that cliche true. Despite everything, I still am happy that I was there.

We were happy. Congrats to the Ateneo Salubong Committee, to everyone who worked hard the whole month of September, to my "colleagues" in Sunday Ops [especially to Carm and Rams for accepting the understudy position that we offered them], to all the Ateneans who were there to cheer and be merry... to everyone who acted as one for the sake of the true stars of THAT PLAY, the barristers...

Of course, to the barristers who from the outside may be judged as the "pampered ones" but in reality are the MOST HARASSED, MOST TIRED and MOST STRESSED individuals for the past months... CONGRATULATIONS..

Until the next cans of beer are delivered, we shall rest or more appropriately... study again.

It was a good FIRST TIME.

How Appropriate

---minsan talaga gusto ko na maniwala sa Horoscope ng sobra---

Taurus

The Bottom Line

Approach things compassionately and with your defenses down. It will create joy.

In Detail

Have you been giving someone the silent treatment? It won't do you much good ... you can't make your point unless you clearly communicate what you are feeling and what you need. People cannot read your mind. So get in touch and clear the air. If you are the one who is getting the silent treatment from someone else, reach out and check in with them. Find out if they are ready to talk. Approach things compassionately and with all your defenses down.

Aww

Dad: Anak, malapit ka na sa pangarap mo... wag mo kakalimutan kung bakit ka nandyan ha. ALam mo na kung ano ang tama at mali.

JOLOGS Talaga Ako

Yesterday, while I was faking my way to studying due to the overflowing guilt that I was feeling for not attending class, Christian Bautista graced Starbucks with his presence.

Gusto nyo ng JOLOGS?

I pretended to read the newspaper while mouthin, "Oh My Gooood." And then, with great effort, tried to eavesdrop on their conversation. I was so tempted to say hi and ask him if I could take his picture or autograph or his heart, whatever, but I didn't. Di ko nga ginawa for Jessica Zafra [whom I love most] kay Christian pa. Still, I CRUSH HIM. Sobra.

Jologs talaga.

And the beer still flows...

Last night was just like any other night this week, we drank, badgered our way to FREE BUCKETS of BEER, SIOMAI and CHISIG and humiliated ourselves enormously. Not to mention the constant baklaan moments, tuksuhan moments, asaran moments and everything that may be considered as "moments".

It started with that eternal promise of "ONE ROUND". By this time, "ONE ROUND" has evolved into a metaphor too, ONE ROUND means, for as long as we have money and the mall's parking lot is open we shall drink our way to liver failure... and if we have to move our cars, there's always BINALOT waiting for us with more than open arms and uhmm, legs. [Eww.]

Side kwento: Of course I felt bad, especially because I got called to recite for Tax in that ONE TIME that I decided not to attend class. Why don't I learn? I'm unlucky, enough said. But it's ok, I stand by my belief that Atty. Gonzalez "might" consider it as my FREE PASS moment. Sana. *keeping fingers crossed* Redemption? I bought two pairs of SALUBONG shoes [meaning, "PWEDE-MABASA-KASI-JELLY-SYA-SO-BRING-IT-ON-BARRISTERS- MAGBASAAN-TAYO-AFTER-THE-BAR" SHOES] Ang saya. Then I got to practice for Salsa, we're learning Seki's [C ba o K?] Officially Missing You steps. Kinda hard, but I'm sure it's gonna look good. Ahlaaaaveeet! It was a fruitful day, non-academic stuff-wise.

[May two cute guys sa tabi ng table namin, umalis sila, akala ni DIale wala
na...]
Diale: Oooy batch, may pagkain pa o! [pasigaw habang tinuturo un natirang
food ng dalawa at hinahatak un isang table nila]
Euns: [horrified look] Batch, nasa likod lang natin sila, umo-order.
