Buntong-hininga

I think I still am crushing on you or crushing on the idea of ME and YOU. Yes, I might've gone overboard by asking you to have coffee with me sometime. I might've ruined it by playing the part of an innocent ex-nongirlfriend / flirtmate. I might've destroyed yet another harmonious coexistence. I don't care. Maybe I do. Yeah, I guess I do care.

It's just that I couldn't help it. You're like my security blanket. Everytime I fall into this human warmth drought, I always come back to you, or to what I believe is an attempt to relive what we had. You're like my Mr. Big. Although, all we have are witty exchanges, flirty gestures and a few extra sweetness once in a while. I do not believe in FOREVER with you, I just think what we have is FUN.

I didn't even ask if you're in a relationship. That's how dangerous I am when you're around. I guess you're not my Mr. Big... but you can be my Mc Dreamy. Either way, I know I'm in for a really really really interesting ride.

Sana. Pero wala na.

I'm Not a Morning Person but...

...since my planned POWER NAP didn't turn out to be a mere NAP, I am officially panicking for my Nego class later.

It's a li'l more than a week before the finals and i still have gazillions of things to do. Not good.

What Took Me So Long to Post This?!

MALL OF ASIA is a crazy place. More than a month ago [i think], PATTY AND I took this picture right after watching The Devil Wears Prada. Patty talked me into it, she knew this is worth a few laughs and gasps... presenting... ang umuulan ng kaastigan na...[drum roll please!]

Business Card

Sharing the Corner...

...was priceless.

It wasn't an "I want to spend forever with you" moment, nor was it even an "I think there's a SPARK between us" scenario... but it indeed was PRICELESS. You made me genuinely smile. I haven't smiled genuinely in a while. It was one of those rare occasions where you would want your life to suddenly have a REWIND BUTTON so that you can watch yourself GLOW over and over again. It was worth a million giggles... heck it was worth going through adolescence one more time.

Thank You Peter Pan for giving me happy thoughts. Now I know why being in Neverland is not that LAME after all.

ONE BIG FIGHT!

We didn't get THAT ball though...

Now I know the feeling of cheering for a basketball team who is in the FINAL FOUR. I can say that I got the best of both worlds. hehe. I couldn't help it, when I saw how electrifiyingly interested everyone was, I decided to give in and shout, "Get that ball!".

Watching the game through the widescreen that was set up at the atrium, at first i thought, "Yeah, it's cheesy" but boy, it feels good. It's not everyday that you are allowed to shout, cheer and curse loudly in the halls of the law school... with the dean and a few other professors just inches away from you. Today's the day that nobody cared or better yet, the day that everybody CHEERED and CURSED LOUDLY. It's called the UAAP Cleansing.

The OVERTIME was anti-climactic though. You anticipate and anticipate and anticipate... and the worst feeling is LOSING without drama. I mean, it was a good game..really... but it lacks controversy.

I enjoyed seeing a few people who were caught by the camera praying... intently [on-the-verge-of-crying intensity kumbaga]. A few law students even asked Fr. Bernas to call the Holy Spirit. That was funny. Entertaining.

Next time, UP vs. Ateneo naman! But it might be TOO MUCH TO ASK.

Fine, UST won the championship this year. I'll get over it. But noooooooooooooooo! IT SUCKS. UP lost to UST during the Pep Squad Competition... and now, ATENEO bowed to UST for the BASKETBALL Championship. I guess it's the "YEAR OF THE TIGER".

UST daw UNDERDOGS. Di kaya! Sige Pido Jarencio, dahil GINEBRA ka naman dati, I WILL FORGIVE YOU. Segue, sobrang lakas ng GINEBRA ngayon. So, baka mag-champion naman. Ewan.

I HAVE A NEW IDOL

When I married the King, why should I settle for a prince? --- Loida Lewis

My whole family was watching Sharon and when Sharon said she has an idol, I couldnt help but be interested. Then we got introduced to LOIDA NICOLAS-LEWIS. Why is she my new idol? Read on...
Filipina Tycoon

Loida Nicolas-Lewis is probably the richest Filipino living outside her home country. She is the chairman and CEO of TLC Beatrice International Holdings, Inc., a two-billion-dollar corporation of 64 companies based in 31 countries. TLC is a marketer of ice cream in Spain and the Canary Islands, the leading manufacturer of potato chips in Ireland, and a prime distributor of beverage in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Thailand.

A lawyer by profession, Loida is also an author, a philanthropist, and an active leader of the Filipino community in the United States. She owns the distinction of having been the first Asian woman to pass the New York State bar exam without having studied law in the U.S. As a businesswoman, she was ranked number 1 among the "Top 50 Women Business Owners in America" by the Working Woman magazine in 1994.

In the United States, she is known as the remarkable woman behind the success of Reginald Lewis, the first Afro-American to hit the US$1B-in-assets mark. In January 1993, Reginald died of brain cancer. So revered was Loida's love for her late husband and "tutor" that she later wrote a book, entitled "Why Should White Guys Have All the Fun? How Reginald F. Lewis Created a Billion Dollar Business Empire." It sold several hundred thousand copies. Reginald's untimely death left Loida with the responsibility of raising their two daughters alone and taking care of the family business. She finished her AB course at the Saint Theresa's College and her law degree at the University of the Philippines.

Congratulations Nick Lim

I vividly remember the first time I met him. It was at the Guadalupe Minor Seminary, during one of our recollections. His voice sounded like Jericho Rosales'. That's why he caught our attention. He was a seminarista. I couldnt remember how we became sort of friends, i think I bumped into him a few months after and got to talk. He's a great guy. But after highschool, we didnt have the chance to communicate....

This morning, my family went to church for the Mass and we noticed that there's an unusual number of people present. We had a hard time looking for a parking space. I heard that it was a Thanksgiving Mass for a newly-ordained priest. I had a hunch and this hunch was affirmed when I saw his name. Fr. Nick Lim. I felt proud. It was not too long ago when he was texting me about his passion for priesthood. I heard the last part of his THANK YOU Speech. It was overwhelming, it sort of gave me that "IF I DID IT, YOU CAN DO IT TOO EUNICE" moment... I am proud and happy that at least we became friends and we were able to share even a few things we treasure. We're not close friends. But I am happy for him. He finally fulfilled his dream of serving God.

I know it's just the start of another journey for him. Still, he's there. He's gone a long way from the Shy Seminarista that I once knew.

Congratulations Nick. You might not remember me, but I do remember you.
